hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Hello everyone,
hitAppoint 4.5 beta version is now available for testing.

The core change is the introduction of the new "resource" item which is a bookable entity - the "provider" in the current 4.4 version. Now the resource can be anything that can be booked - a staff member, a room, a tennis court etc.

Also the admin view to manage and create appointments has been reworked.

Please note that the recurring and packs functions are not working properly at the moment.

The beta version is available at http://www.hitcode.com/clients/, please reply to this post to request access.

Thanks a lot for your feedback.

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

I'd be interested in trying out the beta. Should I email you my account details?

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Hello Jason, Dean, Jim, thank you so much for your support, I've enabled your access to the beta version folder.

The new 4.5 version can be installed either as from scratch, or it can migrate from the 4.4 version

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

One question -- If I install this over my 4.4 version and find issues that I can't live with, is it easy to back down to my 4.4 version or will I be stuck on the 4.5 version?

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Hello Jim,
sorry no, there's no easy way to move back because the database is changing considerably. I would suggest to create a copy of your current 4.4 database, then install 4.5 on that - it will migrate these database tables to version 4.5

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Algis, I have today installed the beta version and whilst the Manage Appointments changes are good, it is not easy to navigate to a date. There are only the forward and backwards buttons where in 449 there were the calendar months too. I am also unable to create appointments as before in the admin -> create appointments. None of my services are available here.

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Hello Craig,
yes I think the month control is needed, I will add it again.
As to creating appointments, you will need to click the slots with time shown, a pop up will appear with all the services. Ones available at that time for the outside customer are marked green, others gray.

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Algis, Thanks. I can see how to make the appointment in the way you have described. I am referring to the Admin - Appointments - Create. There are no services in the list. When would you expect to have the 'shopping' basket of services with the ability to change the total amount of time for the booking?

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Hello,
the beta version has been updated. Now it includes:

1. possibility to add fixed times in scheduls (in addition to the usual "every n minutes")

2. terminology edit in control panel (now a resource can be called "trainer", or "tennis court", or "doctor", whatever, so do locations, services, customers - call them "students", or "patients", etc.

If you already installed the 4.5 beta, please reinstall as the database structure changed a little.

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

I just installed the updated beta from scratch and can't assign more than one service to a schedule like I could with 4.4. I'm also a little confused on how to tie a resources to a service.

Hello Jason,
now the services are set for the whole schedule rather than timeslots. So you need to go to Schedules >> click one to edit >> choose Settings tab

Resources are tied to services via schedules, create a schedule for a resource and tie a service. You can create another schedule for this resource with different service if working hours vary.

Re: hitAppoint Beta 4.5

Thanks Algis. That cleared things up for me.

Can you add an option to disable page load times for the customer?
