Time Zones

Wondering why the time zones are not working for me

My server is setup for Central time

My client is in Japan -- UTC+9, but right now for me to get the correct time on the site I have to use UTC+8

I have another site which is a forum (PHPBB) and I use the UTC+9 and it works, so it can't be the server settings

Could this be related to the issues in my previous post?

<<<Edit--Add>>>
Forgot to mention -- I'm using version 414
Thank you

Re: Time Zones

Algis
There's something wrong with the way the time is handled in version 4.1.4
I installed the initial version 4.0.9 I purchased in a clean directory in my server in the same domain.
The time zone and scheduling hours all worked perfectly fine

I then installed the CORE folder for V4.1.4
The Company Time zone is the same but the Company time is now one hour ahead

This clean installation has no  appointments scheduled
when trying to make an appointment it's has if I had moved the schedule one hour ahead
The schedule is setup to allow appointments from 0900 - 1300
Before with V4.0.9 installed I could make an appointment at 0900 and the last appointment at 1200 (for 1 hr service)
Now with V4.1.4 the first appointment available is at 1000 and the last is at 1300

Can you take a look at this???

My customer wanted to go "live" with it today -- but this is not working out

Thank you

Re: Time Zones

I had a one hour offset in 4.2, fixed in 4.2.1. Suggest you upgrade!

In my case, the offset was between the schedule and the appointment
time slots. The appointment actually made matched the calendar but
not the provider's schedule.

Re: Time Zones

I'm wondering if the issue was due to the DST -- the schedule is used in Japan, which is one of the countries that DOES NOT use DST

I will update to 4.2.1, but was just waiting a bit more this time, to make sure there weren't any other bugs.

So looks like no big issues, I'll give it a try later on today

Thanks for the update

Re: Time Zones

Hello Mario,
yes this problem was due to DST incorrectly handled in version prior to 4.2.1.

Although for Japan, the problem will still happen because currently we assume that DST is on. I'm aware of this situation and plan to extend the timezone support to see if the DST is in use in certain country.

Re: Time Zones

Ok
In the mean time I'll just add a php.ini file to that directory in the server to add an extra hour
Hopfully sometime soon you'll come up with the fix, if not then I'll have to remember to remove the php.ini file when we revert from DST to standard

Thanks
