Dear friends! Please note these forums are currently in read only mode.
So, today I noticed that the long awaited upgrade to hitAppoint had dropped. I eagerly setup a new server (rackspace cloud) to test it out. nginx, php5, mysql all installed in a flash. hitappoint installed in a flash.
But that's where the good ends.
First off, the feature regressions are pretty hard to take. Version 3 has more features than version 4, so if you had perhaps counted on version 4 being all that 3 was, but...um... better? Nope. Sorry, move along. I am talking basics, like SMTP... I had to go in and modify a PHP file to connect to my SMTP host.
Next up, I'm not sure that everything actually works. For example, the account email verification silently fails, sending a 200 OK to the browser and not updating the database.
Oh, and that customer database you've built up? Doesn't migrate over.
What about the Wordpress and Joomla support that is advertised? Well, there are a couple PHP files hidden away somewhere, but no directions.
The good -- well, the code seems cleaner. But my poing here is folks, don't waste your time on 4 yet until the developer completes it. I'd call this a Alpha at best.

Hello Matt,
thank you for your feedback, I admit you are right in many points

yes this is true for the moment. Anyway most of the version 3 features will soon be in 4.

I've already prepared the customers and appointments migration script, it will be published very soon.

it is there, I just need some time to write a manual on this and set up a demo

Thanks Algis. The software is good -- very clean, I just think you should have waited a couple more weeks. Thanks for responding and I look forward to your next update -- I will be deploying it.
