Re: upgrades and bug fixes

Hello,
usually within a major version all upgrades are code only and database idependent. When a new major version is released a lot of new features are included which usually requires major changes in the database structure. Usually we recommend to install the software from scratch. Although if the data is crucial for a client, we prepare an custom installation script that will insert the data from an older version into the fresh database.

With the bug fixes again when a new major version is released it is usually represents a major leap in functionality. We always recommend to upgrade to the latest version. Anyway if a client wants or needs to stay with an older major version and a bug is found, we certainly issue a bug fix for that older version.

Re: upgrades and bug fixes

Hello,

I did not notice in the install notes of version 2.3 whether a complete re-install was necessary or whether I could just refresh the application directories.  Could you please clarify?

Re: upgrades and bug fixes

hello,
I'm sorry for not being clear. If you are coming from the older version, the database conversion is also required. If you can recreate your data, please reinstall the software from scratch including the database setup. Otherwise could you please send me your current version database backup file (you can make one with phpMyAdmin) and I will convert the data for the new version. Sorry no database conversion script is ready yet.
